Me
I am an enthusiastic data scientist who is always looking for new opportunities to develop myself. I enjoy working on improving my coding skills and understanding of data science principles including machine learning and full‑stack frameworks. After working in a data science team for the past 5 years where I have been mainly working on developing digital twins of real‑life systems in Python, I am looking to move into a role that represents my python skill set and passion Outside of coding, I enjoy many social activities including playing in a brass band, ringing church bells and regular game nights. These activities keep me meeting new people and ensure I am always learning new skills, be they activity‑specific or softer skills such as organising groups containing a diverse range of people, mentoring and time management.

Hobbies
Bells
- I attend weekly practices at my local bell tower and visit other towers in the area to develop my techniques
- I also help to teach ringers of differing ages and abilities, from children to octogenarians, and completely new ringers to people who have been ringing for years
- At university I was president of the university society (UBSCR) which involved running weekly practices for up to 15 people, teaching new ringers and organising local events and trips
Band
- I have played in various brass bands since the age of eleven, starting in a youth band, continuing through my university band and I am currently a member of Valley Brass
- In my band career I have played in national competitions, reaching the national finals in 2023 and played internationally in Austria and France through a cultural exchange program, funded in part by a grant from The Victoria Wood Foundation
- At my current band I am a member of the committee. This involves making decisions as a group regarding safeguarding, finance, maintenance and ensuring the band is enjoyable for all involved
- I have built a Django solution to catalogue the band’s music collection allowing for quick searching of pieces. This system also allows for easy updating and exporting of data to both CSV and a printable PDF booklet for accessibility by all band members regardless of technical ability. This has been greatly received as we are now spending far less time manually searching through folders of music
- I volunteer with the band to play for local community events including at Christmas, walking days and school fairs
Games
- I host a biweekly game night for a group of six. This involves planning the session, interpreting the rules and working through any scheduling conflicts with the group
- I am also part of another group where I am a player. This involves working with the other players to ensure the night is fun for all. The group works best when everyone’s input is heard and this requires knowing when to speak up and when to suggest others take the lead
